Where to Buy Fresh Fruit in Korea When You’re Traveling

When you’re traveling in Korea, grabbing a coffee or a quick snack is easy. But what if you just want some fresh fruit?

You might want a banana for breakfast, an apple to keep in your hotel room, or some grapes to snack on after a long day of walking around Seoul. It sounds simple, but finding the right place to buy fruit isn’t always as easy as you’d expect.

Korea has convenience stores on almost every corner and supermarkets in many neighborhoods, but the selection and quantities can vary. Here are a few places to look if you’re craving fresh fruit during your trip.

1. Convenience Stores: The Easiest Place to Start

Convenience stores are everywhere in Korea, so they’re an easy first stop if you want something small to eat. Bananas are commonly available, and some stores also carry other fresh fruit.

The selection varies from store to store, though. One location might have a cup of grapes or a single apple, while another might not carry those items at all.

I checked the CU app for a store in Hongdae on October 19, 2026. It listed a bag of bananas for ₩2,700, a 200 g cup of Shine Muscat grapes for ₩3,200 (on sale from ₩4,800), and a washed apple for ₩3,000. Prices and availability can change, and not every store carries the same products.

If you only need something for breakfast or a quick snack, a convenience store is worth checking first. Just don’t expect the same variety you’d find in a supermarket.

2. Supermarkets: More Choices, but Check the Package Size

If you want more variety, a supermarket is a good place to look.

I recently visited Lotte Mart and noticed that much of the fruit was sold in bags or plastic containers. Apples were bundled together, and some fruit was sold individually, but the options varied depending on the type.

A bag of apples was ₩11,990, while a single Korean pear was ₩7,990. These were the prices at one store, not standard prices across Korea, and they can change by season, variety, and quality.

Buying a pack makes sense if you’re staying somewhere with a kitchen or traveling with other people. But if you’re staying in a hotel and only want one or two pieces, check the quantity before you buy. How much you have to buy can matter as much as the price.

3. Cut-Fruit Shops: Fruit That’s Ready to Eat

If you’d rather not wash, peel, or cut fruit yourself, look for shops that sell cut fruit. They’re a good option if you’re staying in a hotel without a kitchen. You don’t need a knife or a cutting board.

I found these shops on Naver Map: 푸릇해 in Myeongdong, 과일에반하다 프루타 신촌점, and 마땀 과일가게 마포공덕점. Check their current menus and opening hours before visiting, as not every fruit shop sells prepared fruit.

You won’t find a shop like this on every street, so it’s worth checking what’s near your accommodation before heading out.

So, Where Should You Buy Fruit?

For a quick snack, try a convenience store. For more variety, head to a supermarket, but check the package size before buying. If you’d rather have fruit that’s already cut, search for a fruit shop near your accommodation.

Search 과일가게 (fruit shop) or 컵과일 (cut fruit in a cup) on Naver Map or KakaoMap to see what’s nearby.
